Capturing true moments in life is what I love to do, real people, real interactions and real stories. My last 23 years have been all about cameras. I started as a camera assistant in the film and television industry and gained a wealth of experience over 15 years, working alongside talented professionals and developing my skills in the art of capturing visual stories.

Drawing on that experience, I honed my craft as a photographer, and as an extravert with a love of interaction, I moved easily into creating images where the focus is all about people.

In combination with shooting for myself, I find great joy in sharing my knowledge and experience with others in teaching photography without all the scary jargon, and seeing people reach their creative potential with a camera. I really believe it’s not about the camera, it’s about the moment in front of you and knowing just a few small things to allow a split second to speak when it might have otherwise gone unnoticed, even if a phone is all you have to work with.

I hate to have my photo taken so I completely understand how a person feels when they have a camera shoved in their face. My strength is making you feel comfortable. Whether it’s a corporate shoot with lots of lights or a private family shoot, I pride myself in achieving a natural, relaxed feel to my images.

I’m also passionate about giving a voice to a cause and love to create video to tell stories of an organization or the life story of a family member. The end goal for me is to make people feel something when they see my work, connection is what I aim for, when my images do that I’m a happy woman.
