The GenNarrations Project - Real people and their stories

My video work is not all about business. Videos of real people and their stories create treasures that become increasingly valuable over time.

Ten years ago I sat down with my Grandmother to record a conversation in the hope of one day showing my children what a wonderful person she was. She was in her final months and I was suddenly motivated by the fear of the limited time I had left with her, a story I hear often. I wanted to capture every essence of her to make sure I remembered her charisma, her wisdom and her infectious joy, but unfortunately I’d left it too late. Her spark had gone and she’d lost the energy to just sit and chat as she’d always loved to do.

The GenNarrations Project is inspired by Granny’s memory and has evolved out of my professional career with over 25 years spent in the Australian Film, Television and Photographic industries. My love of just sitting and chatting with people can now be combined with my skills as a visual storyteller to encourage others to cherish family by capturing their stories, for the invaluable connection it creates.

And it’s not just about grandparents, there are treasures in our children too, in our brothers and sisters. Stories of inspiration to be told in all generations. My true passion lies in creating a video or a beautiful audio recording that artfully gives a voice to everyday people, whatever story is to be told.
